Based in Los Angeles, Elizabeth Archer is a left-of-center director and writer who creates vibrant, stylized worlds where very normal people slowly reveal how unwell they are. Her cheeky sensibility, visual aesthetic and playful tone breathe life into both her narrative and commercial work. She has a funny bone for the horrors that come from relatable, personal moments and loves to explore the absurdities of modern life from an emotional palette of both subtle, nuanced performances and hilarious physical comedy.

During her time in Los Angeles, Elizabeth has worked for companies such as Hello Sunshine, Netflix and most recently, as a treatment designer at PRETTYBIRD. She has directed dozens of comedic sketches and commercials - most notably for Almost Friday TV, Keke Palmer’s KeyTV and her latest sketch, Two Women Make a Lunch Plan, which premiered at Palm Springs Short Fest (nominated for Best Comedy Short and Best Midnight Short). The film went on to play ten festivals, including Silver Lake Shorts, Bend Film Festival, and Salute Your Shorts - proving that lunch plans are, in fact, universal. And sometimes scary.

Her other work includes directing live talk shows for Hulu and commercials for brands like Bragg, Spotify and Verizon Wireless. When she isn't writing her bio in third person, she is designing treatments for other directors, writers and showrunners. Which means thinking creatively about other people’s ideas (and occasionally saving them).

What have I done with my life leading up to writing this bio?
